So distinct and revered are the malts from Islay, the Island has become legend and a region to itself and its drams are amongst the very best there are in Scotland.

THE ARDBEG is a wonderful peaty dram from a distillery miraculously resurrected by Glenmorangie.

THE PORT ELLEN This distillery closed in 1983. Diageo has brought out 12 expressions of the Port Ellen over the last 10 years. It's very collectable and well worth the wait at the prices they command.

THE CAOL ILA is a renowned whisky with a wonderful light tantalising peated finish and there are many independent bottlings available.

THE BUNNAHABAIN is a thick and oily whisky and not as heavily peated as its neighbours but still commands a huge following of lovers of peaty drams.

THE KILCHOMAN is the newest and smallest distillery on the Island (making approximately 20 casks per week) but what spirit!

THE BRUICHLADDICH is a small batch casking with varied levels of peating and differing cask woods and has become a boutique whisky of the highest order.

THE LAGAVULIN is the flagship dram amongst the Islay Malts. A very fine whisky is the Distillers Edition and the full force of the dram can be experienced with the cask strength expression.

THE BOWMORE is a moderately peated dram best bottled by independent bottlers or when Bowmore produces a small batch bottling at 46% abv and above.

THE LAPHROAG has many distillery editions bottled at 46% and above and are highly peated. This is a great Islay dram and very typical of an Islay Malt.
