James Gordon and John Alexander MacPhail established a grocery business in 1895 in Elgin within the heart of Scotland’s Speyside region. John Urquhart worked with Gordon & MacPhail in the early years, and today the Urquhart family continue to run the business with a simple mission, to create single malt whisky of exceptional quality.
