This first bottling marks the beginning of Aberargie’s spirit coming to maturity, crafted with patience, intention, and an uncompromising respect for tradition. Distilled, matured, and bottled under one roof at Aberargie Distillery, this limited release captures both the character of the Distillery and the considered choices that define the style.
Non Chill Filtered and Natural Colour bottled at 48.2%.
The DNA of Aberargie can be distilled down to four key pillars. Golden Promise Heritage Barely, Laurette Barley, First Fill Bourbon Casks & First Fill Sherry Casks. These pillars make up Aberargie Inaugural release with percentages of each outlined on the back label.
Barley: 100% Farm Grown from 52% Golden Promise Barley and 48% Laurette Barley
Golden Promise, prized for its rich, rounded flavour and historic significance in Scotch whisky, brings depth and texture. Laureate barley adds balance and clarity, contributing to a spirit that is both expressive and refined. Together, they form the foundation of Aberargie’s house character from the very first release.
First Fill Casks: 50% First Fill Bourbon and 50% First Fill Sherry casks
Bourbon casks are sourced directly from the United States and shipped whole, unrinsed, and non-steamed to preserve their full character and flavour. Our Oloroso and PX sherry casks are likewise sourced directly from Miquel Martin and shipped whole, ensuring maximum integrity and depth.
Tasting Notes: Baked apples and golden pastry, balanced by sultanas and prunes and finishing with a lingering herbal note.
Founded in 2017, Aberargie Distillery sits on a 300 acre family farm, seven miles south of Perth in Scotland. They are guided by traditional and patience in the Barley to Bottle approach. Every grain of barley is grown in their own fields and then distilled, matured and bottled under the one roof.
