The Whisky Castle has been proudly selling the finest malt whiskies of Scotland from its historic premises in the quaint village of Tomintoul for over 120 years. Sitting at the gateway to Scotland’s Malt Whisky Trail, it has long been a destination for whisky lovers seeking authenticity, heritage, and exceptional drams.
Sam and Scott proudly run Whisky Castle and Highland Market with their dedicated team now stock over 1000 single malts, offering one of the most diverse and exciting whisky selections in Speyside.
Last year alone, Whisky Castle welcomed over 30,000 visitors through its doors — travellers from across the world eager to learn, taste, and discover beautiful and unique whiskies. From rare single casks to classic Speyside favourites, every visit offers something memorable.

We have over 600 malt whiskies with many being single cask, independently bottled and from small batches. We provide a unique tasting experience from a fantastic selection of spirits allowing us to match a malt to your palette and budget.
Our single malts are personally selected by us, so you are assured of some of the most unique drams from across Scotland.
We also stock rare and collectables from distilleries that are closed (mothballed) or demolished (silent) and lost forever! We also offer a range of lager, beers, wine, champagne, vodka, gin, port, brandy, sherry and Scottish liqueurs.
Highland Market
We have a lovely gift shop offering a vast range of Scottish gifts, many of which are sourced locally, including jewellery, confectionery, preserves, clothing, home furnishings and art works.

Located in the Highland Market, our friendly cafe team are always on hand to serve you with a smile.
