Ardbeg 'AuriVerdes' The Ultimate Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 49.9% 70cl

The Ardbeg Distillery lies on the most southerly part of Islay and on the rugged shores of the Atlantic Ocean.

Distilled with equal measures of skill and passion, Ardbeg AuriVerdes is a golden whisky (Auri) and the unmistakable green bottle (Verde) presented for Ardbeg Day.

This dram is rumoured to be a bit of a hot head on account of the toasted cask lids. The toasted cask lids produce a mocha coffee flavour at one end then flowing into creamy vanilla, a match made in heaven.

Colour: Gold

Nose: Tarry and herbal notes with hints of mocha.

Palate: Coffee grounds pass to smoked root vegetables, while maple-cured bacon collides with hot smoked salmon.

Finish: A lingering smoky vanilla note.
