Nose: Vanilla is followed by apple and poached pear, toasted almonds give way to pineapple and hints of lemon blossom.
Palate: Sweet and creamy honey combines with ripe banana and zesty orange. Apricot comes to the fore, balanced by cracked black pepper.
Finish: Medium-bodied finish with lingering tropical fruit and oak.
Gordon & MacPhail is an independent bottler and distiller of Scotch Whisky, founded in 1895 and located in Elgin in the north-east of Scotland. James Gordon and John Alexander MacPhail established a grocery business and started in the scotch whisky business. In the early days John Urquhart started as an apprentice and quicky established himself as a valuable associate for James Gordon in selecting, purchasing, and maturing whiskies from local distilleries. John Urquhart developed his skills as a Master of Malt Whisky, building an impressive portfolio of maturing whisky casks. John continued to run the business and was then able to pass his knowledge and passion for whisky to his family. Gordon and MacPhail continue to be a family run business owned by the Urquhart Family.
