The Balvenie Distillery has been owned and managed by the same independent family company for five generations. 

The Balvenie Tun 1509 is a series of limited batch single malts. There have been Batches 1-8 from around 2014 through to the early 2020's crafted by the Balvenie Malt Master David C. Stewart to celebrate richness, complexity and craftsmanship. 

Each release is a marriage of rare single malts from the distillery stocks which are combined and married together in a large oak vat called Tun 1509 before bottling. 

This Batch 5 is a mix of 29 casks including ten bourbon barrels, eight sherry hogsheads, three refill American oak casks and eight sherry butts.

Tasting Notes: Rich and intensely fruity on the nose. A spicy outburst on the palate, then sweetened with a deep sherry character. Lingering and luscious with fried fruit and elegant oaky notes on the finish.
