Clynelish 12 y/o Highland Single Malt from the 1970's by Ainslie & Heilbron Ltd. 40% 75cl

This sensational 12 year old Highland single malt was distilled at Clynelish and bottled in the 1970's by Ainslie & Heilbron Ltd.

This particular offering is presented in the A&H orange/brown label, first seen in 1973 and then prominent throughout the late 1970s and 1980s.

The original Clynelish distillery was built in 1819, adjacent to the present operational site. When demand for production grew a second distillery was built next door in 1969; the new one became Clynelish and the old one was named Brora …meaning that this bottle was actually produced from the Brora stills. The Brora distillery eventually closed in 1983, whilst production has continued at the newer Clynelish site. However, it was announced in late 2017 that the distillery would reopen again, and the Brora stills were officially fired up again in 2021.
