The Glenmorangie story begins in 1843 with farmer William Matheson who, with his wife, Anne, set about building a distillery in the Scottish Highlands. Selling their whisky for mere shillings per gallon, the venture may have started small, its location remote, but the Mathesons' vision was extraordinary. They were laying the foundations of what would become one of the most famous Scotch whisky distilleries in the world.
Glenmorangie means Valley of Tranquility.
The Glenmorangie 12 year old 'Original' is a whisky that welcomes you with a rush of citrus and then holds your attention with layers of luscious flavour. At Glenmorangie, they are constantly embarking on new sensory journeys, yet always come home to Original.
Swirling with creamy vanilla and a rush of citrus, layered with honey and peach, this single malt takes The Original’s kaleidoscope of flavours to new heights of deliciousness.
The whisky has been met with delight by the critics, who gave it a coveted gold medal at the prestigious World Whiskies Awards 2024.
The 'The Original' 12 years old is now smoother, creamier and more complex to “turn up the volume” on their signature whisky’s classic notes of orange, vanilla, peach and honey.”
