For more than 125 years, Gordon and MacPhail, a family run business, has carved out a unique niche for itself in the Scotch malt whisky market as experts. Their Discovery Range includes bottlings such as the stuninng Coal Ila 13 year old, whilst their Distillery Label bottlings include the unique Linkwood 15 year old.
They have been experimenting with an unrivalled range of spirit since 1895, studying the interaction with different casks over time. This knowledge has been honed over four generations of the owning family to create complex, subtle and balanced whisky of impeccable quality, such as The Speymalt Macallan.

Benromach Distillery
The Benromach distillery is owned and operated by Gordon and MacPhail. And there’s a story behind why they make every drop of their whisky in the traditional handcrafted way. The story, starts generations ago. The family, the Urquharts of Elgin, have always been passionate about whisky. Their ancestor John began laying down casks of single malt at different distilleries in 1915, when everyone else was blending their whiskies. As a result, over the decades, the family has accumulated a remarkable private collection of extremely rare and beautiful aged single malts.
