In 2016 Highland Park released the 17 year old Ice Edition Single Malt, presented in a unique mountain shaped wooden cradle with accompanying wooden stopper. The intricate circle design on the label itself represents the circle of life, the creation of the world, protected by a dragon, a mythical creature often central in classic Norse mythology. It comes with a booklet which recounts the story of the realm of the Ice Giants and their wonderfully colourful battle against the Gods to rule the world. Released in a blue tinted bespoke glass reflecting dazzling and glittering ice, the bottle shape has been designed to evoke the distinctive sharpness and coolness of the mythical and magical Ice Realm

This unique expression celebrated the Viking roots of the brand’s Orkney Island home, where the Norse influence and culture have been woven for hundreds of years. Highland Park Ice was produced at 53.9% and has been aged predominantly in ex-bourbon casks and limited to only 30,000 bottles. 

Tasting Notes: Dynamic soft spicy notes complement and intertwine with creamy vanilla hues, providing a balanced, long finish.

In 2017 this two-part series was completed with the Highland Park 15 year old Fire Edition Single Malt.

The Fire Edition was also presented in a unique mountain shaped wooden cradle with accompanying wooden stopper. The intricate circle design on the label itself represented the circle of life, the creation of the world, protected by a dragon, a mythical creature often central in classic Norse mythology and also comes with a booklet 

As a Limited Release of 28,000 bottles. The Fire Edition was a tribute to the Muspelheim, which is the Norse Fire Realm of Destruction. Matured in 100% refill Port casks before being bottled and brought down to 45.2%. Released in a red bespoke glass reflecting a dark fire, the bottle shape has been designed to evoke the distinctive sharpness and heat of the mythical and magical Fire Realm 

Tasting Notes: Rich, dark berries (damsons, plums), cinnamon bark, dry smoke, and creamy vanilla.
