Highland Park 'Dark Origins' is a Double First Fill sherry cask finish for a naturally darker richer flavour, which has been Non Chill Filtered.
Highland Park takes its name from the High Park area on the outskirts of Kirkwall, Orkney where in 1798 a local smuggler Magnus Eunson began distilling illegal whisky. Magnus would then hide his forbidden spirit under the pulpit of the church.
The tube describes the Dark Origins. When establishing a secret bunker in the hills of High Park in Orkney, Magnus "Mansie" Eunson became a Dark Distiller. Creating whisky for the people of Orkney to offer them relief from the villainy of the tax collectors. By day he worked tirelessly in his church providing spiritual guidance to the people of Orkney, but in the dead of night, he then hand crafted the best elixir in the world, warming hearts and uniting all who tasted it.
