1. Isle of Raasay Bordeaux Red Wine Cask Unpeated Hebridean Single Malt 60.4% 70cl

Na Sia Single Cask Series - Bordeaux Red Wine Single Cask Bottling. Limited to 295 bottles. 

The Bordeaux red wine casks we use are made from two oak species, Quercus patrea & Quercus robur, adding savoury spice, whilst the red wine imparts tannins into the new make spirit.

The casks were previously used to age three vintages of Bordeaux red wine, resulting in sumptuous, fruity top notes in our spirit like blackberries, plums, and cherries.

Tasting Notes: Bold flavours and fruity notes develop in the spirit – including dried fruits, sultana, grape, Christmas cake & bread pudding.

2. Isle of Raasay Rye Cask Unpeated Hebridean Single Malt 61.3% 70cl

Na Sia Single Cask Series - Rye Cask Single Cask Bottling. Limited to 247 bottles. 

These American Rye casks are from Woodford Reserve Distillery, Kentucky, where they use 53% rye in their mash bill. The flavours emulate history’s original rye whiskeys, with strong peppery, spicy flavours in a sea of fruit and butterscotch. 

As well as the classic vanilla flavour that you get from this type of oak, we are looking for a spicier black pepper note and more of a butterscotch flavour in our ex-rye cask matured spirit. 

Tasting Notes: These casks develop interesting pepper, spice and butter flavours in this single malt scotch whisky.

3. Isle of Raasay Chinkapin Oak Cask Unpeated Hebridean Single Malt 61.6% 70cl

Na Sia Single Cask Series - Virgin Chinkapin Oak Single Cask Bottling. Limited to 251 bottles.

A North American oak, Chinkapin (Quercus muehlenbergii) with a high char and high toast greatly impacts colour & flavour without overpowering the maturing spirit. The high char increases the internal surface area of the cask, allowing more of the spirit to come into contact with the oak, resulting in a much darker colour.

Freshly charred and toasted, these custom made Chinkapin, or Quercus Muehlenbergii American white oak casks are a type of oak native to central and eastern North America. The fresh charring of the cask brings a rich colour and flavour early on in the maturation process, and the high toast caramelises the natural sugars in the wood.

Tasting Notes: Expect sweet toffee and butterscotch on the nose, with vibrant dark fruit flavours and deep, rich colours at a young age.
