Morrison
The range from Morrison scotch whisky includes, Celebration of the Cask, the unqiue Carn Mor range, renowned for it's wonderful sherry casks, the beautifully smokey Mac Talla whisky range and the honeyed and rich Bruadar whisky liqueur.
Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, formerly Morrison and Mackay, came under the ownership of father-and-son team Brian and Jamie Morrison in 2020. The Morrison family has been involved in the whisky industry for more than five generations. Brian’s grandfather, William Walker, was a whisky broker, and his son Stanley purchased Islay’s oldest distillery Bowmore in 1963. Brian later became a managing director of the Islay site before it was sold to Japanese drinks producer Suntory.
They strive to honour their ancestors by keeping whisky making traditions at the heart of what they do, while embracing innovation. They showcase this unique balancing act of old meeting new through their diverse whisky portfolio. The range currently includes a selection of rare and limited single cask bottlings, Islay single malts, a collection of sherry-matured blended malts and a single malt whisky liqueur.
THE ABERARGIE DISTILLERY
In 2017, Morrison started distilling a new single malt in Aberargie, Perthshire. Aptly named Aberargie Distillery, it is located on the family’s 300 acre farm just outside of Perth. This Lowlands distillery is a “barley to bottle” operation set up to produce a rich, fruity and waxy style of whisky with the occasional peated run. Aberargie predominately uses Golden Promise, a heritage variety of barley that has not been widely used by the whisky industry for several years and is grown on their own farm.
