The Story of the Cask:
The history of whisky maturation is mainly based on American and European Oak, so when Finn first came across Columbian Oak, he was immediately intrigued.
Commonly found in the foothills of the Columbian Andes, this white oak is sometimes called Andean Oak, which has been used for generations in the maturation of rum and brandy produced in Latin America.
Columbian Oak offers a balance between the richness and spices of European Oak combined with the vanilla and delicacy of American Oak. To Finn this seemed like the perfect balance for Royal Brackla.
Royal Brackla is a naturally fruity style of spirit with a depth that alows it to prosper with richer flavours from the wood. This single cask combination brings earthy and herbal notes alongside juicy tropical fruits.
This brings a unique and exceptional flavour.
