The GlenDronach Distillery was mothballed / closed between 1996 to 2002. This 18 year old was bottled on 13/06/2017 when it was thought some younger whisky was added to older whisky to continue production at this time.
The GlenDronach 18 year old 'Allardice' has been named after the renowned founder of the distillery, James Allardice.
This exceptional sherried single malt is both non-chill filtered and natural in colour and bottled at 46%
Matured in the finest Spanish Oloroso sherry casks, this sublime richly sherried malt is truly unforgettable.
Nose: Lovely and sweet. Fudge, fruit compote and glacier morello cherries. Fabulous complexity.
Palate: Remarkable flavours of stewed fruits and all spice. Aged Oloroso and toasted walnut bread combined with chocolate orange.
Finish: Tremendously complex and long.
