At 100° Proof (57% vol) Benromach 10 year old is an intense and richly complex dram. Back in the day, all whisky in Scotland was measured in this old Imperial way, the UK now measures in ABV.
Intense and flavourful, with a good whack of smoke but a sherried malt at its core, this is an excellent choice for the winter evenings.
Nose: Dark chocolate with vanilla cream at its core. Dates, banana and peat smoke creeping in.
Palate: A rather big palate with dark fruits and smoky embers. Oaky hints on the mid-palate give it yet more character
Finish: Smoke persists on the long finish.
