Benromach Sassicaia 2006 Wood Finish Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky 45% 70cl

Benromach Distillery was originally founded in 1898 and mothballed in 1983.

Gordon and MacPhail then purchased the distillery in 1993 and commenced operation in 1998. The aim from this new beginning was to recreate an old school style Speyside Single Malt and use peated malt of around 12-14ppm for their entire operation.

This Wood Finish Benromach Sassicaia was distilled in 2006 and bottled in 2015 at 45%.

Matured in First Fill Bourbon barrels for over 7 years then followed by 18 months in Sassicaia casks from the wine producing region of Bolgheri in Tuscany.

Tasting Notes: Ruby red summer fruits. Soft spice and milk chocolate, finished with a subtle smokiness.
