Braeval Distillery, once known as the Braes of Glenlivet sites quietly on the Glenlivet estate near the Tomintoul and Tamnavulin distilleries. This area was a haven for Smugglers late 1700's to early 1800's.
This rare single malt was allowed to mature for 21 years in a single hogshead cask, this Single Malt was distilled at Braeval in 2000. Only 284 bottles were produced, and bottled at cask strength 50.4%. The cask has imparted notes of toffee and sweet fruit with a dusting of powdered ginger.
Nose: Toffee and sweet fruit with a dusting of powdered ginger.
Palate: Honey, Christmas cake and oil of cloves with delightful overtones of ginger and cinnamon.
Finish: Long and lingering.
Both natural dark sherry colour and non chill filtered.
Distilled in 2000, each singel cask bottle is individually numbered.
