Lindores Abbey Distillery has the first recorded evidence for the distillation of Scotch Whisky.
Found in the Exchequer Roll of 1494.
Brother John Cor, a Lindores monk, was commissioned by King James IV to turn 8 bolls of malt into Aqua Vitae.
Under the McKenzie family this new distillery was built in 2016 with the visitor centre opened in 2017 and the
first Single Malt was released in 2021.
