Gordon & MacPhail 'Speymalt from Macallan Distillery' is the combination of a very long partnership between Gordon & MacPhail and Macallan Distillery. 

Macallan Single Malts are known worldwide. 

For the Speymalt Range, Macallan Distillery produces a wonderfully complex spirit which Gordon and MacPhail then carefully mature in quality oak casks ordered epecifically for the 'Speymalt from Macallan Distillery' range. 

Distilled in 2002 and bottled in 2022.

19 year old First Fill Sherry Hogshead cask number 9544.

Limited to only 242 bottles. Non-chill Filtered and natural colour bottled at 55.9%

Nose: Rich fruitcake with orange oil and brown sugar aromas.

Palate: Sweet and smooth stewed berries, cocoa powder and mixed nuts. 

Finish: Long with lingering oak and spice.

Gordon & MacPhail is an independent bottler and distiller of Scotch Whisky, founded in 1895 and located in Elgin in the north-east of Scotland. James Gordon and John Alexander MacPhail established a grocery business in Elgin and started in the scotch whisky business. 

In the early days John Urquhart started as an apprentice and quicky established himself as a valuable associate for James Gordon in selecting, purchasing, and maturing whiskies from local distilleries. John Urquhart developed his skills as a Master of Malt Whisky, building an impressive portfolio of maturing whisky casks. John continued to run the business and was then able to pass his knowledge and passion for whisky to his family. Gordon and MacPhail continue to be a family run business owned by the Urquhart Family.

Established in 1904 our shop The Whisky Castle in the village of Tomintoul is a Gordon and MacPhail Scottish retailer.
