From Douglas McGibbon and Co Ltd who were formed in 1949.

The Port Ellen distillery on Islay was established in 1825 and then closed and fell silent in 1983 the year this single malt was distilled. 

Tasting notes from the bottler:

Nose: Massively peated with a tarry, briny and oceanic style.

Palate: Sweet and leathery taste leading to a tarry creosoted garden fence.

Finish: Lightly smoked tarriness lingering to a hot sandy beach.
