Tamnavulin Distilery was established in 1966 in the small rural village of Tomnavoulin, Scotland. The distillery name means 'mill on the hill' in Gaelic to reference a former carding mill on the site. The distillery was purchased by Whyte and Mackay in 1993 and then closed shortly after in May 1995.
The distillery reopened in 2007 after a major distillery refurbishment. Since then Tamnavulin has crafted some exceptional single malt whisky with a true Speyside character of rich, smooth and mellow.
The Stillman's Dram series from Tamnavulin, crafted by Whyte and Mackay celebrated the artistry of the Stillman with a collection of Limited Edition Single Malt Whiskies. These were likely distilled in the late 1960's and 1970's and released in the 1990's showcasing the Distilleries Speyside Heritage with aged expressions ranging from 23 to 33 years. The series is no longer produced and the Tamnavulin 'Limited Edition Stillman's Dram' has become quiet rare and hard to find.
Tasting notes: A light to medium body results in a smooth clean nose with flowery notes delicately balanced by tinges of dryness then a soft elegant gentle malty sweetness fills the taste buds and lingers pleasantly.
