Included is a booklet that dives into the history of the advertisement campaign offering collectors a nostalgic look into Macallan's heritage.
The Folio 7 remembers a campaign focusing on the tale of 'The Boffins Baffled'. The Macallan Directors of the time invited a party of scientists to unravel the story as to why The Macallan was so special, but they were left positively baffled. No scientific rationale could account for the magic which took place inside of the casks, so the Boffins insisted on taking extra whisky back to the laboratory, all in the name of ‘research’.
Like all the Macallan Archival Series releases the Folio 7 is an exceptional non age statement Single Malt, which carries the brand signature profile.
The Macallan Folio 7 was crafted using a combination of Sherry-seasoned oak casks which is the hallmark of Macallan Single Malt. These casks are typically European and American Oak seasoned with Sherry from Jerez in Spain.
Tasting notes: Raisins, milk chocolate and orange peel give way to vanilla and baked fruits on the palate, leaving a long creamy finish with warm spices.
This limited edition release from the Archival Series is the 6th Edition which commemorates Macallan's advertising campaigns from the 1970's, 80s and 90s. Each edition features a metal case in the form of a book. It contains the bottle and a book explaining what the edition celebrates.
