From the Tomatin Distillery, which was founded in 1897 by John MacDougall and registered as the Tomatin Spey District Distillery but is classed as a distillery from the Highland region.
In a Ximinez Spinola cask and bottled at 53.1%, it marks a rare meeting of two family businesses, Finn Thomson and The Whisky Castle, and is shaped not by fashion, but by time.
For over 122 years, the Whisky Castle has stood as a constant point in the Highlands, welcoming generations of travellers from all over the world. While the world has changed, the spirit of the place has endured, and this hand picked Tomatin cask, finished in a rare Pedro Ximinez cask from Ximinez-Spínola of Jerez, is a whisky chosen for character rather than scale.
The label is inspired by a historic map of Scotland published in 1903, just before the whisky side of our business first opened its doors. The shop’s location is marked in gold foil, a symbol of permanence in a moving landscape. This is not simply a private bottling. It is a record of time, place, and shared values of great whiskies.
