Caperdonich distillery, no longer exists on the banks of the River Spey. It originally opened in 1898 and was finally demolished between 2010-2011.
The Distillery was originally founded in 1898 just across from the 'Glen Grant Distillery' in Rothes, as a sister distillery. However production halted soon after in 1902 due to a market crash.
Then in 1965 it was re-built by The Glenlivet and Glen Grant Distilleries Limited and renamed Caperdonich.
In 1977 it was acquired by Seagram and then in 2001 by Pernod Richard (Chivas Brothers).
A year later production was finally ceased in 2002 and the distillery was then demolished between 2010-2011 to make space for the Forsyth's coppersmith works.
