Dallas Dhu (Silent Distillery) distilled in 1980 Speyside 33 year old Single Malt Scotch Whisky from Gordon & MacPhail Distillery Labels 43% 70cl

This bottle was distilled before the Distillery closure. The Distillery is to re-open as a Distillery.

The Distillery was closed in 1983, three years after this bottle was distilled. The distillery has been a Historic Scotland Whisky Museum. Recently Aceo Distillers Co. have recently announced plans to restore distilling to the site.

Aged 33 years old. This is a Very Rare Single Malt and Collectable bottle.

Dallas Dhu Distillery was built in 1899 and then closed in 1983.

This bottle was distilled in 1980 and then bottled at 33 year old in 2014 by the independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail Distillery Labels.

Built by entrepreneur Alexander Edward in 1899, Dallas Dhu produced malt whisky for the popular Roderick Dhu blend for nearly a century. It has not produced whisky since 1983 when it closed due to water shortage, and the distillery was handed into state care a few years later.

Longer term plans for the Distillery include building a state of the art visitor centre with exhibition and museum space and a cafe and restaurant, to be enjoyed by both visitors and the local community. There will be a cooperage to display the art of the cooper, a working malting floor and an interactive virtual reality whisky experience, that delves into the science behind Scotland’s famous spirit.

Tasting Notes: Delicate sherry influences hints of green apples and pears. The palate has both orange and ripe banana flavours. This is complimented by a lingering charred oak edge.

Gordon & MacPhail have been working with most of Scotlands Distilleries since 1895.

The Distillery Labels Range by Gordon & MacPhail offer an interesting and complementary perspective on already great single malts. This highly sought after collection features the original distillery labels licensed to Gordon & MacPhail, making these whiskies even more distinctive.

Whisky Castle in the village of Tomintoul was established in 1904 and is a Gordon & MacPhail Scottish retailer.
