18 de Julio Avenue, is the most important avenue in Montevideo, Uruguay. Named after the date when the country's first constitution was sworn in, on July 18, 1830.

Findlater Scotch whisky continued to be bottled until the early 1980s. This is a 75cl cermamic flagon with bottle stopper and box. 

Findlater, Mackie, Todd were a well known and highly respected chain of wine merchants with branches across the country. They were founded in 1823 when a Scotsman, Alexander Findlater, went to Dublin to seek his fortune. He entered the wine trade and did very well. By 1860 he and his partners established a London base.

The Findlater brand of blended Scotch whisky was established early on in the company’s history by founder Alexander Findlater, whose uncle was a Scottish excise officer who held a superior office to the poet Robert Burns.
