Distilled in 1999 and bottled in 2018. Aged 18 years old.
The history of the Gordon and MacPhail Distillery Label range goes back to the days when distillery spirit was produced to primarily be used in blends. Because of the strong reltionship built up between Gordon and MacPhail and the Distillery owners Gordon and MacPhail would bottle and sell the spirit they created as a single malt on the condition Gordon and MacPhail used the 'house label' with the caption "bottled by Gordon & MacPhail". This range has produced some very old Single Malts and some recent production.

Colour: Dark Gold
Nose: Juicy blood orange and candied apple combine with a subtle hint of vanilla. Smoke features prominently alongside tart grapefruit and lemon peel.
Palate: Smoky bonfire embers complement baked apple and sweet orange zest. Light and spicy; black pepper develops alongside flavours of milk chocolate with an undertone of aniseed.
Finish: A light and medium-bodied finish with lingering smoke and cocoa powder.
Gordon & MacPhail is an independent bottler and distiller of Scotch Whisky, founded in 1895 and located in Elgin in the north-east of Scotland. James Gordon and John Alexander MacPhail established a grocery business and started in the scotch whisky business. In the early days John Urquhart started as an apprentice and quicky established himself as a valuable associate for James Gordon in selecting, purchasing, and maturing whiskies from local distilleries. John Urquhart developed his skills as a Master of Malt Whisky, building an impressive portfolio of maturing whisky casks. John continued to run the business and was then able to pass his knowledge and passion for whisky to his family. Gordon and MacPhail continue to be a family run business owned by the Urquhart Family.
